BABY SWIMMING
In our baby swimming courses, we learn through play and without performance requirements. Time spent in the water stimulates motor development and develops a good water habit. It is also a cozy moment that promotes contact between the baby and the accompanying parent/adult. The baby swimming activities are for babies from 3-24 months (the child must have a healed umbilicus and weigh at least 4 kg to start in baby swimming) and is divided into three different levels:
- 3-7 months
- 7-12 months
- 12-24 months
Some semesters we offer beginner and continue classes. If not, we always do our best to make the classes meaningful for all participants.
TODDLER SWIMMING
In our toddler swimming courses we continue to learn through play and without performance requirements. We place great emphasis on creating respect for the water and listening to instructions. The activities are based on the ABC:s of swimming. We practice to have fun and feel safe in the water. The first step is to get water on your face, and then be able to dip your face and then your entire head. We also practice a lot on floating and sliding in the back and stomach position and how to safely stand up from a horizontal position. Getting down into the water and then back up on the edge, we practice through different jumps.
Toddler swimming are for children between 2-4 years of age (an accompanying adult is always in the water) and are divided into two levels:
